NO MOTHER’S DAY-EVER! In vast parts of the world there is no Mother’s Day.....ever! It is a sad reality that in many countries, celebrating a mother’s commitment to home and family is overshadowed by poverty, malnutrition, disease, inadequate shelter and unsafe water supplies.

One of these countries is Ethiopia. Although rich in culture, history and natural beauty, Ethiopia claims the unwelcome distinction of being one of the poorest countries in the world. Adequate housing, proper nutrition and basic medical care are beyond the reach of most Ethiopian families.

WHAT WE ARE DOING IN ETHIOPIA. Tropical Health Alliance Foundation(THAF) is helping to prevent one of Ethiopia’s most devastating problems-the tragic loss of life among mothers and children in the absence of prenatal care, adequate birthing facilities and trained healthcare workers. THAF works with front-line organizations to bring relief to women and children. We help these organizations provide maternity services, primary medical care and health education. THAF sponsors the training of urgently needed healthcare workers and supplements the efforts of organizations to build healthcare facilities.

The message inside identifies you as the donor to our Ethiopia relief effort. You’ll receive the cards and envelopes in the mail so that you can include a personal note before sending them on to the recipients.
